While
at Bloody Mary's dock taking on water, I met the owner of a boat from
Santa Barbara, California who had been moored near us. He had been
cruising for 3 years and was leaving today to make his way to the Cook
Islands and New Zealand. We headed north past the Bora Bora Yacht Club,
Teveiroa Motu, then east through a tricky passage, past Pt. Tuishora and
Pt. Mohio to an anchorage behind Motu Piti Asu, close to Pt. Faronne.
Good adventure was had avoiding an unmarked underwater cable across the
narrow channel. We shared the large, beautiful anchorage with four other
boats. Soaring frigate birds surrounded the boats in the anchorage. |
